If you’re a professional, a wedding registry can seem a little silly. You probably have all the “stuff” from your college days. Then, you’ve slowly invested in nicer “stuff” as you’ve advanced in your career. Gone are the days of using a registry to set up your household. Keep reading for the Top 6 Items to Add to the Professional’s Wedding Registry.
Your guests have no idea what to get you, however. So, have a little fun with your wedding registry. Here are some of my favorites!
The first of the Top 6 Items to Add to the Professional’s Wedding Registry are these up-leveled shot glasses. I first saw these with calligraphy and used as escort cards at this wedding by Grit and Grace Inc. I love them for around the house. Shot glasses are kind of trashy, but these could be mini margs or just fancy versions of Patron on ice.
The second of the Top 6 Items to Add to the Professional’s Wedding Registry is a small version of the counter KitchenAid mixer. Registering for the KitchenAid mixer “kind of” seems like a must. Don’t do it. One, it’s expensive and much more than what most of your guests want to spend on a gift. Secondly, it’s too bulky for most of us in DC. It takes up an entire condo kitchen. Okay, not literally, but if you’re anything like me, it’s too big and you’ll only use it every-other-Thanksgiving. The handheld version is a much more manageable.
The third of the Top 6 Items to Add to the Professional’s Wedding Registry is a small vacuum that does all the work of one taking up your closet. I moved from a Capital Hill English basement, to a Reston waterfront townhome, to a 7-acre/ 7-bedroom home. This continues to be my favorite vacuum. I HATE cleaning, and I am completely grossed out by brooms. This vacuum only lasts 15 minutes, which is all the time I need. I clean one room a day, and 15 minutes of vacuuming is more than my mind can handle. It’s small enough to hang inside a close and sucks like…. and animal. It’s a bit expensive, but perfect for its sucking power and tiny size.
The fourth of the Top 6 Items to Add to the Professional’s Wedding Registry are these Moscow mule mugs. Love these as a consumer and gift giver. As a gift giver, I would probably add a a shaker, a fun ice cube tray, and a hand towel. It is a perfect engagement gift!
The fifth of the Top 6 Items to Add to the Professional’s Wedding Registry are lux towels. I am constantly upgrading my towels. I like to have a spa-like atmosphere at home, and I like to give that same experience with my guests. These are my go to towels. The are huge, fluffy and soft. I’m 5’7″, and when I wear them, they go from my underarms to my knee caps. You can also get these at Costco. I pick one up every visit to Costco to upgrade our towels.
The last of the Top 6 Items to Add to the Professional’s Wedding Registry is a tool to make adulting easier. This one you need to add to your Amazon registry with a Universal Registry Button. If you don’t already have a URB, add it! You can add items to your Amazon registry from any site online. See here for how to set up your Amazon Universal Registry Button. It takes 2 minutes to set up.
I love Clean Simple Eats because I am anything but domestic. If it were up to me, we would eat humus, maybe some cheese, and a glass of wine for dinner. I loathe food shopping. Food taking more than 30 minutes to prepare honestly grows mold in my fridge as I avoid it. This recipe book tells you exactly what to buy for the week. I just submit my Instacart order and then follow her instructions. No more planning for the week- oh, God, what a pain! No more searching for ideas- the worst!
