Alli and Chris love the rolling hills outside of Washington, DC. They chose a fall field engagement session in Virginia– capitalizing on autumn’s golden light.
Alli and Chris met in 2016. The 2016 snowmageddon closed down the entire Washington, DC, area, and Alli and Chris used the downtime to talk. A few weeks later, Alli and Chris met at Rustico.
Alli and Chris sparked and lost track of time. Chris was supposed to meet friends after grabbing a quick cocktail with Alli, but he was several hours late.
What I love about these two is that they already a team unit. When scheduling an engagement session, most brides do all the deciding, and the groom just shows up. Not with these two! Rather, they eagerly and excitedly plan all facets of their life together.
So, it is no surprise that the proposal incorporated the same thought, planning, and excitement.
Alli and Chris traveled to Mexico to celebrate the New Year. After relaxing on the beach, Alli popped on a comfortable pair of jeans and was ready to head out to dinner.
Chris, knowing what was to come, tried to cajole Alli into dressing up, but it didn’t work. Finally, Chris asked their butler to call the room to “let Alli know” the dinner reservations came with an elevated dress code.
Alli changed, and on the way to dinner, Chris got down on one knee to ask Alli to be his forever. Soon, they were whisked away to the best seat in the restaurant where the dined, drank and watched the evening pass over Cabo.
Alli and Chris are getting married at Silverbrook Farm in the summer of 2020.
For their engagement session, Alli and Chris wanted something similar to Silverbrook– capitalizing on the rolling hills of Virginia. They chose a field engagement session in Virginia. The fall light was absolutely romantic!
Therefore, we shot at a national battlefield. The light was dreamy. As the sunset, we made our way to a part of the battlefield with cotton. The place was empty except for the three of us.
As we walked around, some places were cold. Spooky! Have you felt those while walking around the area’s historic areas?
Spooky or not, the field engagement session in Virginia was perfect. I cannot wait for Alli and Chris’ wedding next summer.
