Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain Wedding

Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain wedding?  Bee-u-tee-ful!  When Lauren and Rich let me know they would have a Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain wedding, I was surprised that I had never shot there.  It one of the closest wedding venues to me (see also weddings at Strong Mansion here), and amazing!  Oooh, I can’t wait to show to what a Comus Inn a Sugarloaf Mountain wedding has to offer!

Without a doubt, I think more of my brides pick a BHLDN dress than any other dressmaker.  There is something about the elegance and Frenchy-romance of a BHLDN dress.  Also, it is one of the only dresses to come on a chic hanger.  The other plastic hangers?  Ugh.  The BDLDN hangers are dreamy, however!

Lauren and Rich were super excited about a sprinkle wedding ceremony exit, which sounds like the coolest thing EVER.  Rain forced us under a tent and shelved the sprinkles, however- frowny face!  Still, you get an idea of the “sweetness” Lauren and Rich introduced into their wedding. (<<– ha!)

On that pun-ful note, Lauren and Rich have background in journalism.  And, these poor folks had me as their photographer.  Sorry, guys!  Lauren worked for a mental health advocacy group and Rich was a journalist– if you’re a news junky like me, you probably saw him on TV!  Their love of words was evident throughout their day, most especially during their readings and vows.  Thoughtfully planned vows.

The bridesmaids got ready in these beautiful, floral robes.  I love-love-love this gift for bridesmaids!

A bracelet?  But plane scrap?!?”  But when you see a picture like this, you know diamonds have nothing on Amelia.

And then the day began too fast.  As the groomsmen got ready in the cabin, the bride and her maids got ready in the Inn.  As she dressed, she was surrounded by log walls, chandeliers, creaky wide-pine floors, and the dearest family a woman could ask for.

And then the wedding began!  Everyone was full of smiles, wit, and tenderness.  Wit and humor make these are the kind of people you want on your trivia team!

This was a brunch wedding, so while guests snacked on pre-brunch snackies, Lauren, Rich and I shot a few of their wedding photos as the rain poured down outside.  Later, we snuck out as the rain paused for a few more shots.

Brides are often worried about rain on their wedding day.  For photographers, however, as long as we can find a break in the rain, rain days are the best days.  The light is even and beautiful!

And to me, there is nothing more romanic than the rain.

Then the brunch reception began!  It included heartfelt speeches, especially by the bride’s sister, delishious brunch foods, dancing between the raindrops, and a doughnut wedding cake!

As brunch came to a close, Lauren and Rich changed into the most adorable travel clothes.  Right after their reception, they left for their honeymoon in my home state of Alaska- great choice, Lauren and Rich!  And do you see Lauren’s “just married” shirt.  I love it!  I’ve only been married 2 years.  I could still qualify as “just” married, right?

Lauren and Rich, thank you SO MUCH for picking me to shoot your amazing Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain wedding.  The day could not have been any more perfect.  Neither could you!

I love the reflection picture! It’s beautiful! And your attention to details is spot on

and when you appear all the rivers sound in my body, bells shake the sky, and a hymn fills the world.
