Did you catch Phil and Cassie’s Bluemont Vineyard wedding photos (part one) on Friday? You can see those airere. Today, I have part two. On Friday, I walked you through the amazing details, bridal preparation, groom’s preparation, and the first look. Today, let me share with you their Bluemont Vineyard wedding photos we took during their sunset shoot and their beautiful reception in the Stable at Bluemont Vineyard.
If you saw Cassie and Phil’s first look (you can see if here if not), you fell in love with Cassie and Phil. At the first look, both cried because they were so happy to marry one another.
After Cassie and Phil’s emotional ceremony, they immediately left for a few more minutes of shooting. I usually recommend couples go outside for a second shoot if they do a first look because first looks usually occur when it is very bright outside. This second shoot doesn’t have to be long. 15 minutes is often enough. The second shoot really gives you a fully rounded portfolio, incorporating you at your freshest but with the harsh mid-day light, and then the romantic, sunset light.
Shooting at sunset is especially good for faces. During a first look several hours before sunset, it will be difficult not to squint or to wrinkle your forehead. The even, low light at sunset is the opposite. Cassie is a PERFECT model of looking like a rock star at sunset.
Cassie and Phil got married at the end of October. Wanting to incorporate Fall without being too Halloweeny, Cassie and Phil had mulled cider (amazeballs on a cold day by the way!), elegant draping in a rustic location, cider doughnuts, and jewel-toned colors.
The location was beautiful, a barn-like building in the middle of a vineyard, the details were spot on…. and because it was Cassie and Phil, the reception included a TON of personal touches and lots of love. Don’t you want these families to just adopt you?
Cassie was terrified of the chair lift during the hora, and let’s get real, folks. Exuberant guys lifting you over their head, while shaking you up and down in a rented chair? Scary!! Here’s proof. Cassie was only up in the air a few seconds before slipping off. Luckily, no one was hurt, and Cassie has some fun pictures and a great story to show her grandkids!
Cassie and Phil finished off the night with cake and cupcakes, a quick trip outside for some night shots, and then a spectacular sparkler exit. If you recall, Cassie and Phil are so amazing in the kitchen, they were going to bake their own cupcakes! They found a close second with their cupcake vendor– the secret? Moisture. Moisture makes the best cupcakes, says Cassie. I agree!
We finished the night with an iconic Bluemont Vineyard wedding photo in the trellis. Not finished playing outside, we took some more after dark Bluemont Vineyard wedding photos with sparklers before the big sparkler exit.
