Bluemont Vineyard Wedding Photos | Part 1

When I first met with Phil and Cassie to talk about their Bluemont Vineyard wedding, I knew I was going to like them.  Like A LOT.  They are so interesting and may be considered “extreme foodies,” if there is such a thing.  They considered making the cupcakes for their own wedding not to save a few dollars, but because they know they can make cupcakes better than just about anyone else…

But they aren’t snobs.  If you ask them their favorite foods, Cassie will tell you pizza, and Phil will tell you McDonald’s chicken nuggets.  See?  Just cool people.

In addition to being “just cool,” they love each other completely and in a way that will move you.  Doubt me?  Wait till you see their first look!  It will move you to see a man so completely in love with a woman.

But let’s start at the beginning.  Cassie and Phil picked out the prettiest details and jewel-tone accents that fit perfectly with the extreme fall colors of the Bluemont Vineyard wedding at the end of October.

Cassie’s wedding dress was handmade by her mom.  It was such a special touch!  I know Cassie was eager to get into her dress, worried about her first look, and thinking about the logistics of the day.  Cassie is such a sweet and grateful person and she was so excited to put on the dress her mom made for her.  I hope she can now see in her images– without the stress of the day and running off to her first look– that her mom not only put lots of effort into the making of Cassie’s dress, but also put her whole, loving self into making sure every last detail was perfect on the day of Cassie’s wedding.

Then Cassie had a first look with her dad, who snatched her up and hugged her like she was still his little girl… Like every bride wants to be loved!

While Cassie got ready in The Stable at Bluemont Vineyards, Phil got ready in the tasting room.  It’s a perfect place to grab a bottle of wine and a cheese platter any day, but especially on your wedding day.

And then it was time for their first look.  Bluemont Vineyards has BEAUTIFUL vineyards, especially in fall.  The colors were amazing.  More than the colors, Phil’s reaction was the stuff of fairy tales.  Every woman desperately wants to be loved like Phil loves Cassie.

Yep.  That is the stuff of fairies tales.  Every woman wants to be loved like that.

Cassie and Phil took a few minutes just to be.  Then we took a spin around the vineyard to get some pictures before guests arrived.  Because the sun was still high in the sky, we also took a few minutes later in the evening to get shots at sunset.  Catch those images on a Monday blog post!

Then Cassie and Phil waited for their guests to arrive, and the ceremony began.  The ceremony, of course, included even more heartfelt touches: Phil tearing up as Cassie walked down the aisle, big hugs, grandma as the flower “girl,” and Cassie celebrating back down the aisle.

Grandma was the flower girl at this Bluemont Vineyard wedding. The Washington, DC area photographer was Jalapeno Photography.

Cassie and Phil’s love is the kind that everyone dreams of, and wishes and prays for.  How on earth am I the lucky one picked to document their day?!  I’m so excited to show you part two of this magical event on Monday.  Stay tuned!
